This month I got to attend two charity events for amazing causes that feel really close to my heart.
The first one was the Ernestine Affair, which is an occasion to raise support for Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter as well as celebrate and honour current and past clients of the shelter. Every year Ernestine’s marks the arrival of spring with a special evening dedicated to women and children fleeing violence. This year was the 25th year of this beautiful event (I attended last year as well).
If you wish to help in any way (such as donations of volunteering), go to http://ernestines.ca/ .
The second one was the Mask Off Gala, a black tie evening supporting youth mental health at Sunnybrook Hospital. All proceeds from this event were donated to the “Fresh Start Program.” Fresh Start's mission is to transition students back to school by treating the mental health and/or addiction issues interfering with the students’ ability to function in a regular classroom setting. The program provides a safe, school-like environment where students can be medically monitored while developing critical thinking, independent learning and life skills. An amazing cause to also help end the stigma of mental health issues. If you wish to help in any way, please head to https://www.maskoffgala.com .
Any donations are really helpful!
